I took position in favor a legalization of same sex marriage. Tonight history was made in Albany, making NYC, the 6th State in the country to recognize gay marriage. It was not done without emotion; bi partisanship and concessions; but in the end the bill passed after years of failure. Tonight I am joining everyone who has a story of discrimination in joy as I can relate to the hurt that one can go trough when being a minority. Now my hope is that parents will be more supportive of their gay or bisexual children knowing that they have the same legal rights as anyone else in New York. It get's better because many suicide of teenagers living in shame can be prevented- Next I hope that the state will legalize Marijuana. Time will tell- DR
