A Star is Gone - The Music Lives on - Maurice White Founder of Earth Wind And Fire Passes Away at 74
Late 2015 and early 2016 has seen many stars and iconic voices going to the other side. Right before 2016 came into existence, a number of celebrities lost their lives to bring 2015 to a sad end. Natalie Cole, Lemmy Kilmister, and Scott Weiland are just a few of them, but the effect of their loss is still being felt now. Celebrity deaths in 2016 are in no shortage already, and the new year is just a few weeks old. This week has been especially trying on fans of the music, film, and sports worlds. David Bowie, and Maurice White is just the latest legend lost, and for the hearts of fans everywhere, hopefully it is the last for a while..
Maurice White of Earth Wind & Fire passed away in his sleeps on january 4th at the age of 74. Earth Wind and Fire an iconic group that changed the shape of music and use of ancient archetypes in visuals for album covers; stages props using ancient egypt symbolism to align their magical voices. as for to subliminally say their music is eternal and it will be. I grew up listening and dancing to Earth Wind & Fire. I was braking the Juke box playing Let's Groove on repeat. All of these great memories make me feel thankful that I could align my memoreis to such greatness. "I'll write a Song for You," is one of my all time favorite and "I Need You," is a close second.
Please rest in peace. -DR
