As the year come to an end I compiled a list of best of 2011. Fell free to add in a comment anyone you may think I have overlooked for their achievement this year. My wish for 2012 is more understanding so to prevent conflict in our inner circles and to resolve any remaining wars in the world. The hopeful always win and the hopeless will always benefit from hope. Djamee

First I want to acknowledge THE UNIVERSAL ZULU NATION and the events they are bringing to NYC, to help celebrate HIP HOP, Culture 37th year Anniversary, back to back with the celebration of their 38th, years of existence. I was lucky to see Afrika Bambaataa, & The Soul Sonic Force, perform when they were in Paris at Club Midnight Express at La Defense years ago. I got the chance to meet him at The NYU Radio Station at the end of one of his interview, in the mid 90's and we talked about paris. Later on I met his son who was a resident DJ of Koncrete Jungle; and we talked about his father. But Flashback to Paris, when I was doing the B-Boy, thing dancing on the streets and R&R train platforms or on the steps of the Cultural Center George Pompidou; enjoying the new born culture. I remember going to the movies to see Beat Street, (check out the battle video HERE) many times with my crew. We used the exit doors to get in the theater, and stayed all afternoon to see the film over and over. We did what needed to be done to see those break dance moves as if on replay. We had the VCR, but the tapes where a hot commodity and hard to find in Paris then. After school, it was practice, practice, practice! We had to be as true as possible as what you would get at Herald Square in New York. This was a long time ago but I always remember the feeling of accomplishment this experience gave me. From then on I knew I could do something out of nothing or at least out of an idea. These were the best years growing up. We made many friends and a lot of money but our crown moment was when we were tapped by the United States Consulate to perform at their outdoor concert for the july 4th U.S.A Independence day celebration. Here we were on stage sponsored by a dance company for our outfits and our Adidas kicks with our family cheering us on and the TV cameras rolling. Nobody said this would be easy, but when we did it this was so much fun that we hardly thought about the skills we were developing. Only the B-girl in our crew was taking professional dance classes. We all learned how to dance among ourselves. We put our mind together kept a strict discipline and help each others reach the goals we had set ourselves to become a relevant street dance crew in Paris. To this day Paris, is still the second city destination for Hip Hop, in the world and since has produced its personal genre of artists rap etc. We are people of habits what we learn young is what we take with us as we become adults. Hopefully, you have learned early creative skills that will give you the confidence to live fully; embrace and enjoy your life and follow your dreams. My 1st book V.I.P Various Imbeciles Protected, is coming soon in it I tell different storie that happened at different stage of my life and how each experience ended up making sense in my curent situation with my business. Take the time to support and like my Facebook, page and follow me @DjameeVIPbook on Twitter. Each like counts and put you on my 100 thank you/gift list. Zulu Nation, inspired in me a sense of justice, love and solidarity for the community. As a DJ and Raver Promoter with Solution Network, in the East Coast Rave scene, I learned that by helping each others we all can get to where we want to go.
