This morning I brought my Mac Mini to Tekserve, I was number "70 green ticket..." I told the tech "specialist" I had a CD stuck in the DVD rom. 10 minutes later the tech "Specialist" reapeared with my mac and he told me: "Both your optical drive and hard drive failed so you will need about $450 just for new parts + labor+taxes; and if you want to retrieve your data; they gone too...This will be another $600 so you are better off getting a new Mac Mini; we have some for about $445 plus tax if you want." I was shocked he never open the Mac Mini, how could he know??? He had me sign a receipt stating "Sorry but Tekserve can't save your computer." But something told me to get a second opinion. So I went back to the office at Stanley Kaplan, "The Talent Agent Legend" if you did not know that yet...SK, walked with me to the 1st floor to NEW COMPUTECH. Adel, the owner told me he would look at my mac for free and give me an estimate if parts needed to be changed. Long story short my Mac Mini optical and hard drive were fine. Adel's tech "Gentleman," removed the DVD "Quantum Of Solace," from it. It was ruined that's it. They charged me $95 for the labor and all my data were intact! I feel you should know that a "Specialist" can be a con artist in disguise. I have heard many horror stories about people getting amputated by "Specialist Doctors," when the only thing they needed was stronger antibiotics. Thank you New Computech, you are not Apple Specialist but you went out of your way to save DJAMEE business today. I will not set another foot at Tekserve. I am good...
Do I look like a sucker to you Tekserve ? Above is my certificate. Yes I am naive and I was born today. Djamee 03/17/10
