Back to school Apparel means two different things for parents and for their kids. The parents want their kids to start the new academic year in the right spirit; while their kids are mostly interested in showing off how pretty cute the Summer has been to them and how fresh they are from the gate(literally). This is your kids non verbal communication 101.
Thankfully StuddedSpikes by Djamee a unisex for the whole family new line of cool apparel is reaching above water.
Djamee says:"In 2009 when I launched StuddedSpikes in Manhattan New York; if someone had asked me if I knew I would be designing apparel in 2019; I would have told them no. StuddedSpikes are only hand made accessories. But today I feel different. I realize you can really be creative when it comes to tees hoodies even bag packs and totes. You can express your mood and even start a conversation in these cold streets by wearing a tee or a hoodie which reflect your mood of the moment.
Kids like to fit in but that does not mean that they want to wear the same generic shirts from the department stores. They want some originality and creativity too. You can be cool without breaking the bank wearing StuddedSpikes by Djamee. For the top quality material offered; connoisseurs will be delighted to grab the "Limited Editions," pieces they can rock day and night in or out of town.
There are new StuddedSpikes arrivals every Thursdays. On top of that, there are special designs rolled out at anytime which ads to the fun in following this brand. The main StuddedSpikes store is on TeeSpring. On Djamee's site you get a general idea of what is to come and can go back to archives of previous runway shows. Soon at least two other major platforms will carry the new designs.
" My focus is on the customers experience. You are going to wear them and it has to be the best quality possible; so that you know StuddedSpikes is a good idea for a gift of great value. Treat yourself or anyone for a special occasion or for the holidays. 100% satisfaction guaranteed is a basic standard for me. If you are not happy with my designs why should you have to keep them?
The answer to this is simple. I have you in mind when I put my designs out. I'm only happy if you are."

If you live in Manhattan, you probably love the city and always will. Yet all signs point to Brooklyn as the emerging number one destination in New York, for anything art; Sport and entertainment. The Nets backed by Barclays, the #1 bank in the world has already transform Brooklyn; it's landscape and the perception people have of it even before it opens it's doors on September 28th. Jay Z, arguably the most famous Brooklyn native knew he had to Be part of it and invested millions of it's own fortune to become part owner of the NETS franchise that was on is way to BK from NJ. Big brand luxury stores like Barneys are following Target there and the subject of our attention today the one and only trend setting fashion pioneer in Brooklyn BK Fashion Week End is celebrating their 13th Season this weekend from March 29th to April 1st 2012 at the Industry lofts, effectively putting "BROOKLYN & BEYOND" on the map for more than 6 years.
I have been a fervent supporters of BKFW since I came across the Foundation years ago. I had found a flyer promoting their next event on the ground and I picked it up. It said on it that they needed models so I went to the casting they were doing in Greenpoint that season. I introduced myself and met Rick Davy the creative director and force behind it all. Since then I have been involved with helping with models generating new ideas for the events and was even awarded at the Brooklyn Borough Hall for my team efforts in 2011 at the BK Style Foundation regognition ceremony event. I am grateful I was given the opportunity to kick start my now growing line of accessories StuddedSpikes by Djamee with Jhon Ashford Shoes in Fall 2009 at a BKFW show. The show was taking place in an old church and again in 2010 when they took it to the huge Steiner studio by the waterfront in Brooklyn Navy Yard. Channel 12 News a fervent BKFW sponsor did a reportage on the designers collections and the response I got from the media exposure was explosive to my business. The energy is on point "Brooklyn is for the hard knocks in life. With the foundation's support I always have the fuel to continue Being part of it; Fashion that is. SEE YA LL THERE! - DR

On Tuesday December 14th, I was lucky to have tickets to go experience a screening of TRON LEGACY in 3D. TRON had been off the silver screen for 28 years. I had seen the original at the movies in Paris; yet most of you reading this were not even a plan/project when TRON was released. DJ Stiletto, who by the way should have been in the movie (serious Djamee voice) tagged along with me.
In Legacy, Disney wants to lure you in a video game via Digital 3D technology. To that extent the movie is successful. But the original TRON, worked because video games were so new at the time thus the excitement and the hit in both the arcades and at the movie theaters. Today with "Inception," "Avatars," or even "X MEN," more action packed in comparison; it is hard to leave this world and believe in TRON LEGACY's digital world. The fact that Jeff Bridges, is back in the cast is a good thing but it is safe to say there was no need for this movie if only to showcase today's technology and TRON's franchise new game (in time for the holidays). I bet anyone playing a TRON LEGACY video game on PS# or X BOX should have more thrill than those going to see the movie this coming Friday and beyond. There are some great moments and I will give you only some hints: Encom the software empire that Jeff Bridges character left to Sam his son is under CYBER attack. This is a cute observation (cliche) about today's big corporation sites vulnerability Wikileleaks backlash that resulted in major sites being attacked by hackers. This plays well with our time. Also when we see aging Jeff Bridges it is almost comical to see him dine in what is supposed to be a God like decorated living room in contrast to the vilains facist like palaces. Michael Sheen almost steals the show in a character similar to Batman's Joker.
I give Tron Legacy : 4/4 for special effects 1/4 storyline action 1/4... TRON LEGACY suffers from over exposure to the genre. None of the beautiful actors can save TL from BORING YOU; not even YAYA; who curiously has 1 line: "He is different." She made the best of it though. Shissh... don't fall asleep 3 D IMAX can get very expensive lol. Get all your visuals and Daft Punk moment worth the hype and your $$$...
